Spring - Summer '07

Strawberry 'Chin-Chin'
1 1/2 oz. Tanqueray Gin
2 tsp. Agave nectar
2 strawberries, sliced
splash fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp. minced ginger
Garnish: whole strawberry on the rim
Muddle the strawberries, agave, lemon juice, and ginger in a mixing glass. Add ice and the gin. Shake well and strain into a champagne flute. Add the garnish.
Tequila Mockingbird (at Bookmarks) and Shanghai Margarita (at The World Bar/Campbell Apt.)
1 1/2 oz. Don Julio Tequila
1 tsp. agave nectar
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
pinch of minced ginger
Garnish: 3 lime wheels on a pick
Shake ingredients and strain into an ice-filled, salt-rimmed(optional), rocks glass. Add the garnish.
Brazilian Tango
1 1/2 oz. Cachaca
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
1/2 tsp. aged Balsamic vinegar
splash fresh lemon juice
3 tangerine slices with skin on
Muddle the tangerine, balsamic, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a mixing glass. Add ice and the cachaca. Shake and pour into a rocks glass or wine glass
Gin and the Giant Peach
1 1/2 oz. White Tea Peach infused Gin (Beefeater)
3/4 oz. Simple syrup
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
Garnish: Lemon twist
Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass.
Berry Royale
1 oz. Blueberry-Raspberry puree
1/4 oz. Maraschino liqueur
2 1/2 oz. Champagne
Garnish: Long lime twist
Stir ingredients with half the champagne with ice. Strain into a champagne flute and top off with remainder of champagne. Add the garnish.
Walden Daiquiri
1 1/2 oz. Montecristo Light Rum
1 basil leaf
5 cherry tomatoes
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
Garnish: large basil leaf
Muddle the tomatoes and basil leaf in simple and lime. Add ice and rum and shake well. Strain into martini glass. Add the garnish.
White Owl (or Oxford Cocktail)
3 pineapple chunks
3 dashes orange bitters
1 1/2 oz. Dewars 12-yr.(or other equivalent scotch)
1/2 oz. sweet vermouth
Garnish: cherry and orange slice on a pick
Muddle the pineapple in the bitters. Add ice and the scotch and vermouth. Shake and strain into a highball glass. Add the garnish.
Champagne Infusion Cocktails
Raspberry - Peter Rabbit
5 raspberries
3/4 oz. Simple syrup
1/2 oz. lemon juice
3 oz. Champagne
Muddle the raspberries in simple and lemon. Then add ice and half the champagne. Stir briefly and strain into a champagne flute. Top off with the rest of the champagne.
Mango - Henry Miller
1 oz. Mango puree
splash simple
splash Grand Marnier
3 oz. Champagne
Stir ingredients with ice and strain into a champagne flute. Top with remainder of champagne.
The Mockingbird Cocktail
1/2 oz. Elderflower syrup
1 pinch of minced ginger
1 lemon wedge
3 oz. Moet
Garnish: Floating flower or berries
Muddle the lemon wedge in the elderflower and ginger. Add ice and stir with half the Moet, then strain into champagne flute. Top off with remaining Moet. Add the garnish.
