This is THE cocktail event of the year, folks, and we'd like to share with you exactly where you can find us and what we'll be up to:
Thursday, July 22nd, 5pm: The Diageo Happy Hour Event
- mixing up some very tasty late 1980's early 1990's cocktails...you'll definitely want to see what we'll be wearing.
Also on Thursday: 8pm: Spirited Dinner (Father and Son) at Le Meritage. Click HERE for more info.
Fri-Sun: Roaming the streets of the French Quarter looking for a good time...
Seriously friends, we have a few things up our sleeves for the rest of our time at Tales. Didn't think we'd divulge everything, did you? You'll have to stay tuned via The Cocktail Guru blog and Twitter page for constant updates from New Orleans. ~~~~
Sake Sake Sake
Earlier this week we had the pleasure of having Abigael Hendron from Sidney Frank Imports speak to the USBG NY Chapter on Gekkeikan Sake. We enjoyed a tasting of 6 different sakes, as well as 3 different sake cocktails. All of these were paired with some delicious food from Betel in the West Village. Stay tuned for a blog post in the coming weeks...

Health Care For Bartenders! Yes, it's true!
Didn't ever think it was possible, did 'ya? Well, the impossible has just become a reality. All members of the United States Bartenders' Guild will now be eligible for health care. Nobody will be denied.
If this isn't a reason to join the USBG, then I don't know what is.
You can join by clicking the link below:
Is your brand interested in sponsoring one of the NY Chapter's monthly mixers, luncheons, or other events?
The USBGNY Council (from left to right): Treasurer Brian Van Flandern, VP Allen Katz (who is currently beardless), President Jonathan Pogash, and Madame Secretary Charlotte Voisey. We welcome Katie Darling who just took over the Secretary position. Guess we need a more recent pic, eh? |

Business Class:
This year's bar show was quite an experience...
Our USBG NY Chapter really did an amazing job. The hard work and dedication of our team is really admirable, and I thank each and every one of you.
We rocked the demo bar - had amazing seminars - great outreach to our bar community - and we even signed up some members right on the spot!
Our friends at Lush Life took some really great pics over the course of the 2-day trade show at the Javits Center. You can see those pics right HERE.

The Windsor Terrace
This cocktail was inspired by our big move this week. We are now residents of Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. The boxes are slowly getting unpacked - but don't worry, the bottles are resting peacefully, eager to come out and play.
Enjoy this refreshing drink, won't 'ya?
The Windsor Terrace
2 oz. Beefeater Summer Gin
3/4 oz. Dubonnet Rouge 1/2 oz. Earl Grey Tea syrup** 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice 2 dashes Regan's orange bitters
Directions: Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass
Garnish: long orange peel
**to make earl grey syrup: Make iced tea with earl grey tea by steeping one tea bag for every 1 cup of hot water. Allow to steep for a min. of 4 minutes. Then combine with equal parts sugar and heat until dissolved. Chill and serve.
